Homemade Remedies

Coconut oil is one of the best ways of extracting the healing properties of plants, which is one of the methods used for infusing the holistic effects into oils for making different remedies such as tinctures, topical salves, balms, etc.

A very good method of coconut oil extraction is to get a trusted organic cold-pressed virgin coconut oil. Place the amount you wish to use as your base of your remedy into a crock pot or a stove that has a temperature that can be controlled. If the coconut oil is too solid to remove from the container and you need to melt it to put it in a pot, we recommend placing the jars into a warm bathtub or outside to allow them melt naturally. You NEVER want to put this in the microwave to melt, as microwaves destroy all natural benefits of anything put inside of them.

Heat this oil to no more than 180 degrees. Place your plant matter (ground up yields the best results) into the heated coconut oil, watching that the temperature does not exceed 180 degrees for a minimum of 3, up to 24 hours. The longer you have the plant matter infusing in the oil, the more potent your end result will be.

After infusing the oil for the number of hours, get a container to hold the infused oil that you will use for your salves, balms, etc and strain the oil into the container using cheese cloth or something similar to filter out all of the matter and you will be left with a very healing coconut oil base.
